GPM is revenue per 1,000 views. It measures how much a creator's content earns for every thousand people who watch it, which is a better read on selling power than follower count.

What GPM measures

Per mille means per thousand. So GPM is the money a video earns for every 1,000 views it gets. A creator with a high GPM turns views into sales. A creator with a low GPM gets the views and leaves the money on the table.

Views are easy to get and easy to fake. Revenue per view is not. That gap is what GPM captures, and it is why a smaller creator can beat a bigger one in the same category.

Why it beats the follower count

Follower count tells you how many people watch. GPM tells you how well that watching turns into buying. Two creators with the same followers can sit ten times apart on GPM, and that difference is the whole decision.

So read GPM before the follower count and before the engagement rate. It is the closest single number the platform gives you to "does this creator actually move product."

What GPM does not tell you

GPM is measured across everything a creator sells, not your category. A creator can carry a high GPM and still be a poor fit, because their audience is buying something else. So GPM narrows the list. It does not answer the final question on its own: is this creator, for your product, worth a sample?

GPM is one signal. The full vetting method puts it beside the others.
